What is a ham shoot?
A Ham Shoot is a type of shooting sport similar to block shoots, ham shoots, and turkey shoots. It is typically a fundraising event where participants purchase a ticket to shoot for either ham or beef. Each key corresponds to a specific group and target number. After all the shots are fired, the adult shooter with the best center shot wins a ham, and the junior shooter firing the best center shot also wins a prize. The shooter who hits the most targets wins the ham in case of ties. Flags are handed out at registration if needed, and all firearms must be placed on the bench with receivers open when called to the firing line. Ham Shoot and Meat Raffle usually start at noon. And there are two separate shoots with different sets of meat packages available for participants.
